Wow, I really needed this week at home! The most difficult part of my transition from Miami to New York was the change of weather, so the escape to Miami sun for a while was vital. Thankfully, though, it is beginning to warm up now in the City! I had the most fun wearing my new cropped Topshop sweater and scalloped high-waisted jean shorts to one of the boat days, which I paired with a pink 50s-inspired bikini and round Cynthia Rowley sunglasses. I wanted to keep all of my outfits bright and extra "Spring-y"! What do you guys think?

SMART BUY
I was so honored when one of my best friends told me she took my blog advice, decided to take a chance and head over to TJ Maxx on Miami Beach, and actually found the coolest embellished white LaRok blazer. She also picked up a fabulous pair of black Alice and Olivia shorts there. Splurging is fun every once in a while, but it can be so satisfying knowing you didn't have to spend $500. Speaking of Miami Beach, pictures from my trip back home are coming soon!

BREAK MY BONES

Spring doesn't only have to be all about florals and bright colors. Skulls seem to have declared a permanent place in the fashion world, and for designers such as McQueen they're an absolute staple for almost every season. Even Comme des Garçons' menswear line for Spring at Paris fashion week put skulls in the spotlight. But if you're thinking this accessory looks too tough, I would go with something more colorful such as the Vivienne Westwood multi-colored skull necklace paired with a white cotton maxi dress or keep with the mixed prints trend by wearing a casual Wildfox bones tee with a polka-dot cardigan.
FESTIVITIES
This weekend I was paid a lovely visit by my boyfriend and our plans included good food, shopping, an amazing night at Lavo, the Steve Aoki concert, Serendipity's (in)famous guilty pleasure the frozen hot chocolate, a much needed haircut and tickets to his very first broadway The Phantom of the Opera. I bought the zig-zag printed skirt at my new favorite Soho boutique Mink on Mott St and am absolutely obsessed with it! It goes perfectly with any colorful jewelry and bright floral print blouses. I kept it more simple the night of Lavo with chunky wood heels and an H&M sheer blouse. Below is a video taken on my iPhone of the Steve Aoki craziness. Hello April!
