PREGAMING

Shirt : JCrew

To kick off NYFW, I'm pregaming with a post about my current favorite things. I'm convinced that when fashion bloggers post pictures of all of their new clothes every single time they get something it's just to make me envious, but I'm so excited about these pieces that I had to do them justice. The silk button-down from J Crew not only was a steal at 30% off during a 24-hour sale of their new Spring collection, but it's NEON! This picture doesn't even begin to illustrate how bright it is. But seriously, I'm talking a button-down completely doused in Sharpie highlighter. How would I ever pass something up like this? Sure, neon is an obvious trend for Spring considering that DVF, J Brand, Rag and Bone, Sass and Bide, Proenza and... basically every other designer... jumped on the bandwagon, but I don't think I will ever NOT want some neon loving in my closet regardless of the season. I think Equipment has some serious competition to worry about with this little guy emerging into the button-down department.

Blazer : H&M

As for the H&M blazer, I was surprised noticing how reminiscent - and pretty much identical - it was of the orange Stella jacket I have been coveting since her Spring 2012 show. Oh the possibilities! This is not only a perfect pairing with the J Crew blouse, but will get along so well with anything in my Spring wardrobe. And on that note, now would be the perfect moment to send all the snow to hell. Just saying.

Handbag : Alexander Wang

Last but most certainly not least, a little piece of heaven given to me as a birthday gift. This thing might as well just be attached to my body considering it doesn't leave my side. Anyway, to finish off this lengthy post in which I have rambled on about nothing, I will leave you guys with some neon-spiration. Feast your eyes and HAPPY NEW YORK FASHION WEEK!

MILLY IS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR

The Milly show was adorrrrrrbs. It was totally reminiscent of the 50s and 60s featuring vintage-looking sunglasses, color-blocking, and some darling bold prints. Even the silhouettes were retro - shift dresses and wide-leg trousers were mostly prominent. I love the first pleated maxi dress!

THEYSKENS' THEORY FOR TOUGH GIRLS

Funny that I discovered recently that it's actually pronounced tey-skens. Anyway, I love this collection for Spring because of how wearable it is. Every piece featured in the show is one of those closet staples that can be worn with a thousand different things. Not only that, but you can definitely get a lot of mileage out of the knits, blazers, leather and trousers because they can be mixed in with your Fall closet. This type of street style is always one that I'm so envious of, especially because of the fact that the boyish low-rise pants look like they were oh-so-effortlessly thrown on. Oliver Theyskens must know how to throw a damn good party if he can design shiny pants as crazy as the green and pink ones.. just a thought.

MY LOVELY FW EXPERIENCE

A friend and I headed to Milk Studios for the Simon Spurr Menswear runway show and then to Lincoln Center for Custo Barcelona. There is nothing I love more than a man who can dress, so you might imagine that I melted when Simon Spurr sent cute tall boys down the runway in suits with leather sleeves, shirts and knits with bold stripes and cool trench coats. Oh, and Ed Westwick sitting front row in a dashing suit looking like he came straight off the set of Gossip Girl. See it for yourselves.

Moving on, love took on a whole new meaning when I laid eyes on the Custo Barcelona collection. Neon lights and provided 3D glasses created a psychedelic ambiance which was even further emphasized in the crazy prints, sequins and colors when the models walked out. The show began with pairs of men and women that the designer created similar looks for. The rest featured insane platforms with spikes, glittery fabrics, bold swimwear and NYFW's favorite! -- greasy ponytails. Basically, it was a runway on some reaaaaal addicting drugs.

The dress above stole the show for me. Now after seeing all of this fabulousness, I'm sure you probably won't be too taken aback with my outfit. But, what the hell, here's what little ol' me wore on this fine day..
